Freedom

This morning I did something I haven't done for over 3 1/2 years. I went running outside by myself without pushing a stroller. It was exhilarating! I really have only run outside a handful of times since Jaycee was born because she is extremely high maintenance. She would scream every time I went for a run with her in the jogging stroller. I tried again a few weeks ago, but she was way too heavy (especially going uphill into a head wind).
I've been using my treadmill, although not very regularly. Plus, it's a treadmill, how exciting is that? So, I decided since Jaycee is going to school all day on Tues. and Thurs. I should take advantage of it and go running in the park.
It was wonderful!! Three miles on a running trail is a little harder than 3 miles on a treadmill, so I did get a little tired. But, it was definitely worth it to be able to move my arms when I ran (you can't move your arms while holding onto a stroller) and to actually have scenery besides what I see out my window! How I've missed it!

Three miles??? Goodness...I am excited that I can now run 1/4 mile lap without stopping. But I am improving. I have always admired how active your family is. Way to go. The time out running alone is wonderful...makes us enjoy time with the kids all the more. Love reading your posts!!

YEAH! That is freedom. I don't run much anymore or even attempt too, I just walk a lot. Pushing a double stroller of course. LOL! I look forward to being able to go out for a 3 mile run by myself again someday.
