Chantz is 9!

On May 18th my little boy turned 9! I can't believe how old he's getting. We took him to Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D, which he thought was pretty awesome.
Then, the birthday boy gets to choose where he wants to go out for dinner. I really thought he was going to choose McDonald's, but he surprised us all with China Palace. It's a Chinese buffet. The only reason he wanted to go there was because one time when we went Mike tried to gross us all out by eating an octopus.

Chantz wanted a double layer birthday cake, so this is my attempt. I think I need to take a cake decorating class.

Here's the birthday boy! I know, he desperately needs a haircut! He's growing it out for a super tall mohawk this summer. I was hoping he'd outgrown that desire.

Here's the gang! I suppose I should explain the awesome party hats. He didn't have a construction worker theme. We got these hats from Touch a Truck on Saturday. Chantz thought they'd be great party hats.
