I wish I had my camera

On Saturday, I had a booth at a little craft fair. It was in a very small town. I won't say where to protect the innocent. Anyway, at 1:00 the town has a parade. I think I walked into the red neck capital of the world. This is Oklahoma!! They had the school marching band and the cheer leaders. I think if you're in school in this town, you have a choice between band or cheer and you make either team no matter what. There were zero floats, just random people walking or driving down the street throwing candy. Then, we had about 5 sports cars, drive down a little stop for 5 minutes to rev their engines and burn up their tires. Nice. They saved the best for last, a bunch of junky old rust bucket trucks jacked up on huge tires. Imagine tow-mater from Cars, on monster truck tires. There were about ten of those, again stopping for at least five minutes to rev their engines. The exhaust was so thick and so smelly! I guess right after the parade, they go "mud boggin'." The whole thing was really quite hilarious! I really wish I had my camera because my description does not do it justice.

You can't say "this is Oklahoma!" because I have lived here my entire life, and not once have I witnessed a scene like that! It's not so bad here :)

I know, it's not typical Oklahoma, but our first year in the state, we went to a 4th of July party at one of his attending's houses. It was a double wide!!! Come on, I'm from Idaho. We have plenty of red-neck activity going on there too!! :)
