7th grade football

Tuesday night was Cameron's football debut. He's right there in the center in the white jersey, #17. They won 20-0! His game was fun to watch. It wasn't too hot, the sun was shining, perfect football weather.
Since there are so many kids, they have two teams. Cameron's game was first, but they have to stay for both. Soon after the second game started, we got a little gift from Gustav. The sky got dark and the rain began to fall. We were soaked within a matter of a few seconds! Umbrellas were pretty much useless.
To make matters worse, Mike had called and needed me to bring him food. He hadn't had time to get to the cafeteria before it closed for the night. Then I find out that they wouldn't let the kids bring there school bags on the bus, so I had to take Cameron back to school to get his homework, then go get food, then drive all the way to the hospital to give Mike his dinner. This took about an hour, all in soaking wet clothes!
At least Cameron had fun, so I guess it's worth it.

Sounds like fun, all but the rain. It is interesting that we live closer to the Gulf and yet, didn't even get any rain at all from Gustav. Now we are preparing for Ike. Sorry you were all wet. Hopefully his next game will be dry.
